Prudence, as was, wanted to change her name in line with her gothic style. What better way than by adding a metal umlaut?

Disappointingly, the deed poll office didn't have one of those on their typewriter, so had to make do with transliterating it the way they already did with German and other umlaut-centric names.

Oh well. In her heart, she knows she's really Prüdence. Just like her friends Çelia and Melißa.
